ABOUT US

Memorable Corporate Teambuilding Entertainment!

Get A Clue Mysteries, a division of FROWbiz Productions, has been entertainingly killing off Houston actors since 2002.  Get A Clue Mysteries are ripped from the pages of history.  From Pirates on the high seas to the Wild West, and the sailing of the Titanic to the Roaring ‘20s, our mysteries are historically informed, beautifully costumed and deadly funny.  Our performers are some of Houston’s top theatrical actors and our scripts always have one foot in historical reality with lots of room for playful interaction.

We Murder a Farce at Kilworth Manor

Kilworth1

Our first mystery was an experiment in farce – inspired by the British TV Comedy Fawlty Towers, Mayhem at Kilworth Manor was a raucous romp through Montrose historical mansion, Kilworth Manor.  Secret passages, mistaken identities, puppets, a huge cast of zany characters,  “Kilworth Manor” set us on the path to mystery and mayhem.

Murder....And All that Jazz

Malones2

Our most popular mystery, the 1920’s gangster Midnight at Malone’s was debuted in 2002.  FROWbiz stalwarts and Murder Mystery veterans Angela Lorio and Jeffrey S. Lane became the dynamic duo of Get a Clue and under their tenure the company has grown to a repertoire of over a dozen mysteries ranging from Film Noire to Holiday musical murders and to include historical figures such as Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Jean Laffite and of course, Bugsy Malone.

Mysteries as Teambuilding

Shocker at Spindletop

Teambuilding became an important objective of Get A Clue mysteries with Shocker at Spindletop, which was premiered in 2005.  Shocker is a favorite with our oil and gas clients as the client’s company history is woven into the storyline.  With a surprise team-enhancing plot twist at the end, Shocker is an excellent corporate teambuilding event.

Custom Mysteries:

Although we have a solid repertoire of shows ready to be performed, we also create custom mysteries.  We have murdered lawyers at a Law School Graduation party, a Katrina-era oil rig saboteur at roustabout training,  a 1950s high school bully at a senior’s home just to name a few.

How they work:

Get A Clue Mysteries are interactive plays that do not require the audience to portray anyone but themselves. Lasting roughly 2 hours, the characters mix and mingle with guests and socialize, much as your guests are doing with each other.  Clues are dropped, relationships revealed and plots thicken as the evening progresses until...someone dies or items are stolen in the case of our theft mysteries (Siren Star and Probable Clause)

Our mysteries are designed to be performed during a meal but several work well in a stand-up networking reception with a minimum audience of 25 people.  We work closely with your catering or banquet staff to ensure a smooth flow between reception and dinner.  Guests work together as teams to solve the mystery and most of our clients like to give a prize to each member of the winning team for solving the mystery or getting the most answers correct.
